As 2016 is soon to be coming to a close, I’ve been preparing my planners for 2017. I’ve been thinking about what worked for me this year and what didn’t, and organizing my life that way. I’ve also thought a lot about trying new systems to see if they work better for me than my current systems. Anyway, for my memory keeping plan, I really enjoyed keeping a memory planner. If you’ve followed along, this year I used a Heidi Swapp Memory Planner. I absolutely love it. It’s such a simple and easy way to document my weeks and I’m so happy I switched to it from Project Life. While I’d love to stick with the Heidi Swapp brand, the planners she launched for 2017 at Michaels weren’t really my style in terms of color scheme and design. So I’ve decided to use my Carpe Diem Planner in Robin’s Egg Blue from Simple Stories as my 2017 memory planner. (Hopefully Heidi doesn’t come out with any more planners for 2017 that I may like, or else I may just have to use my Carpe Diem for something else!)
For my Carpe Diem though, I’ve decided to set it up with a color scheme in mind. I’m really fond of the new Carpe Diem Posh line, so I’ve decided to setup my planner around that color scheme. Upon opening my planner, you’d find all of my pockets stuffed with sticker and such, but you’ll also find this clear pouch that I punched into my planner that holds all of my spare Posh stickers that I couldn’t fit anywhere else. As I fill up my planner, I don’t think I’ll keep this pouch in it because it already causes so much bulk to the planner and I know as I add photos and embellishments and such to my planner, it’ll bulk up significantly.
So in my front pockets I have an assortment of stickers from The Reset Girl, The Planner Society and Villa Beautiful that match the colors in my scheme. I have the little ones tucked in the front pockets and the larger sheets tucked away in the secretarial pocket. I also have a few quote cards from Cocoa Daisy up front, as well as a washi sampler and a few paper clips I made using some Simple Stories adhesive brads. The washi tapes I’m using are mostly from the Posh and The Reset Girl lines for this year’s Carpe Diem planner, with a few from my stash that I found matched perfectly. Once you remove the clear pouch, you’ll find a cardstock pocket from the line with even more Posh stickers stored away inside.
Next you have my dashboard. I used this beautiful floral paper from my June 2015 Planner Society Kit and on top of it is a clear transparency from Michaels with white script writing all over it. I just love how the colors of that paper and the pocket that’s opposite it match so well! The new pockets from the Posh collection are double-sided, in that there’s a pocket on both sides, so the backside hold even more Posh–and a few The Reset Girl–planner stickers.
Then we finally go into the bulk of the planner, which are the inserts. For this planner, I’m using the Posh monthly divider inserts. I love the designs on the dividers and how the monthly inserts look so clean. I’ve already when ahead and dated my monthly inserts, making sure to include all the holidays as well. For my weekly pages, I’m just using last years Carpe Diem inserts that came with my planner. I never used this planner this year, so I still have all of the inserts unused. So I figure I’ll use up the weekly pages instead of buying the new ones. Lastly, at the back of my planner, I have another one of those cardstock pockets fill with even more stickers!
Check out the video below. I walk you through my entire setup and how I’m going to use this planner. You’ll get a better idea of what it’s like! I hope you enjoy!
